SCH, Vald, Booba… The line-up for the rap night of La Rochelle Francofolies was enticing. However, the hatred between Vald and Booba ruined the party with, on arrival, disappointing concerts by the two protagonists, a deplorable display of CRS cordons taking the performers in and out of the stage, and more than an hour late at the time of the show. Booba’s arrival…
Since this winter, social tensions have risen between Booba and Vald, two big rap sellers, against a backdrop of accusations of inflated listening figures on music platforms. Their meeting in La Rochelle was inevitably expected. 20 minutes returns to the movie of the day.
Tensions and selfies
On Friday, Booba and Vald had been looking for each other on social networks all day. “Good concert, we want peace, believe me, you don’t want war,” Booba began. “You lose the ball de vioc, it’s you, you promise a blow and (there) you want peace twice in the same tweet, I (I) said nothing, did nothing,” Vald replied.
Vald, who celebrated his 30th birthday on the stage of the Francofolies and received a cake with candles during his concert, appeared during his show with about thirty companions around him. “Don’t forget he’s my first part, huh. You can send your slaves back, we mean no harm,” Booba joked on Twitter when he saw the images of all these relatives around Vald. Vald then posted to Instagram a photo of him lying in a recliner, with his cake, at the foot of the stage, as if he seemed to be waiting for Booba.
Delays and Angry
Vald, seated in the back of a truck with his escort, then took selfies with his fans, behind the big stage, on the road Booba had to take to get there. The festival management encouraged Vald to look elsewhere, which he did. A cordon of some thirty CRS was then set up there to secure the arrival of Booba, who ended up arriving on stage more than an hour late (after midnight instead of 11pm). Vald was on the main stage of the Francofolies at 7:45 PM.
When he arrived on stage at night, Booba couldn’t help but throw kicks at Vald and mock the microphone of the people around him “recruited in Fitness Park” (complex of sports halls). Booba delivered a prearranged show, as did Vald before him. And finally, the best concert of this rap night will have been given by the one who was content to do the job, SCH, who spent between Vald and Booba.
Vald was back, with his followers, handcuffing Booba’s van as he left at 2 a.m., behind the CRS cordon. The police apparatus made it possible to avoid a remake of the famous general fight in which Booba, and another rival in rap, Kaaris, were the protagonists at Orly airport in 2018.
