The two rappers, who have been attacking each other on social networks for months, were both on the bill at the La Rochelle festival on Friday evening. The intervention of the organizers and the CRS prevented a meeting that could have degenerated.
At the Francofolies de La Rochelle, a CRS cordon was set up on Friday evening to avoid any meeting between Booba and Vald, who have been rubbing each other on social networks since this winter.
Act I: At the end of his concert, Vald, sitting in the back of a truck, with his escort, takes selfies with his fans, behind the big stage, on the path Booba has to take to get there. However, since this winter, social tensions have risen between Booba and Vald, two big rap sellers, against a backdrop of accusations of inflated listening figures on music platforms.
The direction of the festival encouraged Vald to steer clear of the path Booba would take, which he did. A cordon of some thirty CRS was then set up there to secure the arrival of Booba, who ended up arriving on stage more than an hour late (after midnight instead of 11pm). Vald was on the main stage of the Francofolies at 7:45 PM.
Act II: Vald was back, with his followers, to handcuff Booba’s van as he left at 2 a.m., behind the CRS cordon.
No remake of the fight at Orly in 2018
The police apparatus made it possible to avoid a remake of the famous general fight in which Booba, and another rival in rap, Kaaris, were the protagonists at Orly airport in 2018.
On Friday, Booba and Vald had been looking for each other on social networks all day. “Good concert, we want peace, believe me, you don’t want war,” Booba began. “You lose the ball de vioc, it’s you, you promise a blow and (there) you want peace twice in the same tweet, I (I) said nothing, did nothing,” Vald replied.
Vald, who celebrated his 30th birthday on the stage of the Francofolies – receiving cake with candles during his concert – appeared during his show with about thirty companions around him. “Don’t forget he’s my first part, huh. You can send your slaves back, we mean no harm,” Booba joked on Twitter when he saw the images of all these relatives – some bodybuilders – around Vald. Vald then posted to Instagram a photo of him lying in a recliner, with his cake, at the foot of the stage, as if he seemed to be waiting for Booba.
“You didn’t pay, but you can still enjoy it”
When he arrived on stage at night, Booba couldn’t help but throw kicks at Vald and mock the microphone of the people around him “recruited in Fitness Park” (complex of sports halls). Booba still has the same sense of rejoinder, also making fun of these La Rochelle residents who attend Francos’ concerts from the balconies of their adjacent apartments.
“Well, you, on the balconies, you didn’t pay, but you can still enjoy them,” launched the one nicknamed the Duke of Boulogne.
